Article 1.
These General Terms and Conditions of Participation at the HOW Festival (hereinafter: “General Terms”) govern the terms of participation at the HOW Festival to be held on 28-30 October 2026 at the Mövenpick Hotel & Residences Kvarner Bay in Novi Vinodolski (hereinafter: “Conference”).
The Conference is organised by HESA GROUP d.o.o., with its registered office in Zagreb, Trg Ivana, Antuna i Vladimira Mažuranića 13, OIB: 66631337112, registered with the Commercial Court in Zagreb under MBS: 080476091, contact: info@hesa-group.com (hereinafter: “Organiser”).
By accepting these General Terms, you confirm that you are acting within the scope of your commercial, business, craft or professional activity and do not qualify as a consumer under the applicable law. You further confirm that you are authorised to accept these General Terms on behalf of the legal entity registering for the Conference.
Article 2.
Registration of participants
By registering for the Festival, the General Terms and Conditions are accepted. Registration should be completed within the deadlines set in the program. Registration obliges the participant to pay the registration fee. When the payment is received the registration will be confirmed. Participants authorize the organizer to collect and store registration data following the Law on Personal Data Protection. The registration fee is subject to VAT at the rate of the country in which the event is organized, regardless of whether it is invoiced to a legal or natural person. In Croatia, this is a VAT rate of 25%. In the event of a change in the tax rate, the organizer reserves the right to apply the same.
Article 3.
Certificate of participation and paid registration fee
Written confirmation of participation is given to each participant after the correct registration and payment of the registration fee. The registration fee depends on the date of payment and the number of registration fees ordered. Discounts do not apply if the payment is made after the date by which they are valid. If the payment is made within 48 hours before the festival, the confirmation must be presented at the registration desk upon registration.

Article 5.
Cancellation of the Festival
In case of an unfavorable epidemiological situation, the organizer has the right to transfer the Festival online and inform all participants in writing.
The paid difference in the registration fee between the live and online Festival is transferred to the HOW Festival 2026.
If the Festival is canceled as a result of force majeure or the insufficient number of participants (less than 200) or for reasons beyond the control of the organizer, the paid registration fee is returned to the payer. The Organizer undertakes to notify all registered participants in time in case of cancellation of the Festival no later than 7 days before the same. This does not apply to other costs that the participant may incur.
Article 6.
HOW Festival ticket cancellation by participants
Cancellation of an already confirmed reservation must be in writing.
Article 7.
Accommodation Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made 60 or more days prior to arrival: no charge. Cancellations made within 59 days of arrival or in the case of no-show: 100% of the total value of all reserved services will be charged.
Article 8.
Program changes
The organizer reserves the right to make changes within the program of the event. These changes cannot affect the reduction of the registration fee or its partial refund.

Article 10.
Publication of material
All events within the HOW Festival 2026 are photographed and filmed and used for promotional purposes of the festival.
Statement on the protection and collection of personal data and their use
Our server and website are protected by security protocols.
HESA Group d.o.o. undertakes to protect the personal data of the participant, in such a way that the data on the participant – name, surname, function, company – the organizer may provide to a third party only in the case of activities related to the event of which the participant was part. The list of all participants of the festival will be forwarded for publication as follows:
In the official application where participants can contact each other and arrange meetings with the sponsors of the festival.
If you do not want your information to be included or forwarded, please notify us in writing at prijava@howfestival.com. Also, the organizer is obliged to provide information to official bodies at their official request.
All user data is strictly kept and is only available to employees who need this data to do the job. All employees of HESA Groupe d.o.o. and business partners are responsible for adhering to the principles of privacy.
HESA Group d.o.o. uses Google Analytics for statistical purposes.
Article 11.
Responsibility
The organizer will be responsible for implementing the program in the form it was published, respecting the customs of good practice. Any possible complaint must be in writing to be considered and resolved by the Consumer Complaints Procedure. The deadline for submitting complaints is 8 days from the end of the festival, and the Organizer undertakes to respond within 5 working days of receiving the complaint.
In case of restrictions, participants agree to rapid covid tests, temperature measurement, the mandatory wearing of masks, presentation of a vaccination certificate, and all other activities to reduce the likelihood of spreading the infection. If the participant behaves irresponsibly and refuses to adhere to the measures, the Organizer may remove him from the festival, and the paid registration fee is withheld.
The organizer is not responsible for the irresponsible behavior of the participants, but he is obliged to do everything he can to ensure that the participants adhere to the measures: spread the chairs, measure the temperature, provide quick tests, etc.
Article 12.
Final Provisions
Should any provision of these General Terms be found void, lose its legal force, become invalid, or cease to be applicable due to changed circumstances, the validity and application of the remaining provisions shall not be affected. In such case, the participant and the Organiser shall endeavour to resolve any resulting ambiguities by mutual agreement, in accordance with the purpose of the contract and the common intention of the parties. All matters not governed by these General Terms shall be subject to any specific arrangements concluded in writing between the Organiser and the participant, where such arrangements exist, as well as the substantive law of the Republic of Croatia. The parties shall endeavour to resolve any disputes amicably; in the event of a dispute, the competent court in Zagreb shall have jurisdiction.
By submitting a registration for the HOW Festival, the participant confirms acceptance of these General Terms, which apply to all registrations submitted after their publication on the Organiser’s website. Registration is valid for two weeks from the date of submission. If registered at an early bird or regular price, the applicable rate remains valid for one additional week after the respective deadline. After that period, the registration is no longer valid at the previously selected price, and the rates indicated on the festival’s website at that time shall apply.
