
Ivan Artolli has 46 years’ experience in luxury hospitality across Europe. Born in Padua, Italy, Ivan has spent his entire working life in the hotel & restaurant industry, gaining valuable experience at all levels in various luxury properties in Germany, UK, France, Monaco, Belgium and Italy. He studied in Abano Terme at the Pietro d’Abano Hotel school, obtaining a degree in hospitality, and also attended courses at the Hospitality School of Lausanne and Cornell University in Ithaca, USA.
He was until recently Managing Director at the Hotel de Paris Monte Carlo where he oversaw their 300 million refurbishment programme and repositioned the Hotel as a top European Luxury Establishment.
Previously he had spent 17 years at Rocco Forte Hotels. This started in the year 2000 with the position of General Manager for the reopening and repositioning of the Hotel Savoy in Florence. Having successfully achieved RF ojectives, in 2002 he was offered to move to the Brussels to reopen and reposition the Hotel Amigo after a £17.5 million refurbishment. Eager to gain further experience he accepted, in 2007, the leaders’ role of the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh, Scotland. The promotion to Operations Director for 7 properties in Northern Europe at RF Hotels come in 2011. In February 2014 Ivan was appointed MD of Verdura Resort while retaining his Ops Director responsibilities of the Amigo Hotel in Brussels and being part of the Rocco Forte Company Executive Committee.
At the beginning of his Luxury Hospitality career, he worked at Brenner’s Park Hotel in Baden Baden, the Lygon Arms in Broadway, Claridge’s in London, the Ritz in Paris. Ivan also held the Sales Manager and Director of Sales & Marketing position at the RF Beach Plaza Hotel in Monaco, the Plaza Athénée in Paris and Villa d’Este Grand Hotel in Cernobbio before joining in 1997 Grand Hotel in Milan as Resident Manager.
• In 2019 Ivan was one of the 4 nominees for “Virtuoso Best of the Best Hotelier of the year” award.
• In 2021 he was one of the 4 nominees for “HOTELS Magazine Independent Hotelier of the World” award.
• Having worked in more than 10 Leading Hotels of the World across Europe Ivan was appointed “LEADING LEGEND AWARD 2022” by the Leading Hotels of the World on the occasion of the LHW Annual Conference in Riviera Maya Mexico.
Ivan is fluent in Italian, French, German, and English.
